Snow Flurry

Simply waiting for an overseas
 call for a movie date.

I moved into my place today :-)

Keeps slipping my mind that I have to take some (nasty) antibiotics, & now I simply wait for an overseas call for a movie date.

Gennaio kisses

The last couple of days of January were a bit hazy. The days were rainy and cold (which if you know me, I love).
I was *trying* to live in almost 3 different time zones.

I was simply enjoying everything about this.

For the rest of January I was living in 'Padova'
(a pretty perf lil town 20 minutes away from Venice) with my small family in their
dreamy apartment in the center of the city.

I was pretty grateful to have them since I had to wait till the beginning of February to move into my place.

Most of my time was spent baking, walking around the city (getting lost), and eating/drinking:

  • Fritelle | A typical Venetian treat made only during Carnival season
  • Pan di Stelle Biscotti | The best cookies ever (with stars)
  • Kinder mini bars (!)
  • Cioccolato caldo | it was like chocolate soup...for the soul, lol.

dreamy days for days to come...

In my head it was always a magical thing, a reality in another dimension.
Somewhere different but not different for me.
It lived in my head from a very young age, both of my dreams always have.

dreams.

My favorite things ever and honestly I'm addicted to them.

After a year of hard work (where I was lucky enough to have my sig. o living in the same city as me) on my 20th year of life I said goodbye to the peachy Miami beaches, hopped on a plane to Madrid, Spain with a final destination to Venice, Italy... home.

I did not sleep one bit on my magical flight there. There were constellations out my window all through the night prior to landing in Madrid. Madrid was still lit up at 7am since the sun was still sleeping. It was drizzling & slightly cold.
The Madrid airport is beautifully minimalistic, in the shape of an M. It appears small...but isn't (hahaha, it took me about an hour to reach my gate which I did not mind because I'm obsessed with airports!)

Boarding to the short trip...the one where you're mostly brain dead, the sun had risen and we departed into beautiful pastel skies, flew over Cote d'Azur and before I knew it...my window view was all of Venice sitting perfectly under the foggy day.

I obviously came back to life, reunited with my luggage and was bundled up like a marshmallow for the perfect weather in Venice that day.

My aunt and uncle greeted me and we went to a quaint little restaurant inside a big house in the middle of nowhere and I stuffed my face with gnocchi's and water of course.

I felt like I was in a dream but I also knew that it was all my new reality.

Caracas | part 3 |

The rest of my time in Venezuela felt like it was in a dream-state.
I knew that I will always look back on it and remember how happy I felt to be there.

Writing this now, in my bed back in the States makes me go mad trying to
understand how I had the strength to leave him ?

I tell myself that it's ok, for now it's just some time away from each other that will hopefully
make us stronger.

Gracias por todo Adel !    t.q.m

Caracas | part 2 |

It was obvious nothing from this would be easy.
Every memory we would have to evidently keep because of the
simple fact that everything was exactly how it should always be.
I treasure every single time I've gotten to find myself face to face
with Adelchi. From the airport to his house I didn't know whether to stare
at him the entire time or stare at the amazing and foreign city of Caracas!

I met his wonderful and outmost welcoming family
who opened their door to me for the following days.

Lots of time was spent playing video games and really just hanging out.
When we weren't home, Adelchi was my very own personal tour guide ;-)

- An afternoon spent at Parque del Este which of course included a stop at the Humboldt Planetarium with it's beautiful 20 meter dome and a Zeiss projector!
- Welcomed a New Year with a panoramic view of the city filled with fireworks, and with a Pandoro filled belly of course!
- Centro Sambil was where Adel and I spent some time at a bookstore and simply walking around in circles through this maze-like mall.

I also spent lots of quality time with their cute cats ♡ Tizòn & Mimma ♡
